Arab Academy for Science, Technology & Maritime Transport

On Tuseday 8 January 2019, His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al-Qasimi, member of the UAE Federal Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah Emirate signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Sharjah Government and AASTMT, an Egypt based specialized organization of the Arab League, to establish AASTMT branch in Khor Fakkan, Sharjah.

His Excellency Professor Ismail Abdel Ghaffar Ismail Farag has signed the MOU on behalf of AASTMT. The new AASTMT branch in Sharjah will qualify graduates specialized in various maritime transport sciences and technologies, in addition to international transport, logistics as well as maritime law. This will offer state-of-the-art specialized educational programs and provide the labor market with calibers in all fields of the maritime industry.

H.E Prof. Dr. Ismail Abdel Ghafar Ismail Farag - President of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport (AASTMT) and AASTMT Family members express their sincere condolences on the death of Sheikh Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi - Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Asking Allah to grant mercy and to rest his soul in Paradise, and to inspire his family with patience and fortitude.

About The Academy

Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport is one of the specialized organizations of The League of Arab States whose member-states are participants in the AASTMT. Since its establishment in 1972, the Academy has been involved in the various fields of education, training, scientific research and community service. Being a multi-purpose, multi-task institution, the Academy basically offers its services to students from the entire Arab world, as well as those from African countries.

Admission Requirements

Holder of the UAE High School certificate (General Track / Advanced Track) or any equivalent certificate (The number of schooling years must not be less than 12).

Medical fitness for College of Maritime Transport & Technology.

Birthdate Certificate

6 personal Photos (6 x 4)

A copy of ID card or passport

The high school must be fully accredited and authorized from the Ministry of Education in United Arab Emirates.

Copy of the Residency Visa

Sitting for the English Placement Test is a must or submit one of the following:

  • IELTS exam with score not less than 5.00.
  • International TOEFL (IBT) with score 61.
  • Institutional TOEFL with score 500.
  • EMSAT (1100)

The Maritime College is considered one of the specialized colleges of the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport which awards specialized certificates in the field of Maritime Transport. Throughout its glorious history of more than 47 years, this College has been a pioneering college in the field of maritime education and training, which culminated in obtaining Quality Certificate ISO 9001 in September 1999. The infrastructure of the College includes modern simulators, laboratories and other facilities necessary to do research and specialized studies. The College programs are also revised and developed periodically, in order to cope with the latest technologies and regulations in the maritime transport field.
